What Parents Are Saying

Nola is a wonderful life coach! She has taught my daughter various practical tools/skills that she can use on a daily basis! My daughter is very open up to her in sharing her concerns and asking for help. I was really impressed with Nola’s ability and experience level! Highly recommend her if you would like to get your child some professional help in addressing their life issues!

We are so fortunate to have been referred to Nola and the Confident Happy Kids program. Our son was having difficulties with bullying and was really struggling with his peers in school. My husband and I were at a loss as to what to do until we were referred to Nola.

Nola was an instrumental part in helping our son Keelan through some sad and frustrating times. Nola gave Keelan confidence, excellent coping skills and a positive outlook. He loved his time with Nola and we saw a huge change in him immediately. Nola helped him to believe in himself and to be proud of who he was. She taught him how to deal with stressful situations and how to have fun. He was able to resolve his issues in school and truly stand up for himself.

Nola also helped my husband and I to be more present in our children’s lives. She helped us to communicate more effectively with our children and with each other.

I can’t say enough about what a positive influence Nola had on our lives. She has such a beautiful spirit and we are very thankful for what she brought to our family.

I’ve been going to Nola for about 8 months now. I’m a new step mom and I’ve never had kids and needed someone to help me with being a step mom. and it’s been so nice having her advise me when I am struggling with understand the mind of someone else. She always knows what to say even when you feel like you don’t really need advise but just someone to listen, she is there for that! She’s not judgy or snarky! I would tell Nola things I did that would crush me and I would question myself and she would encourage me and also would give me advise to fix it! And it would always work! It was never to late to fix something I said or did. It actually created better trust and relationship between me and my kid!

She has such a softness to her that even when you question saying something, she has a way of making you feel relaxed and safe. I’m really grateful for her, I wouldn’t have made it through these past months and kept my sanity with out her!

I wouldn’t have been as successful with my kid without her!

Nola provided youth with personal counselling as well as small group support within our Wellness Centre at the Forest Lawn High School.  Her expertise and knowledge were appreciated by the students and the guidance counsellors at the school.  Youth told us that Nola was very professional and supported them in a very effective way.

I appreciated all her kindness and support to our vulnerable youth.  It is people such as Nola who truly make a difference in the lives of youth impacted by mental health issues and other issues that make it challenging to focus on school and be successful academically.  Nola was able to reach out to these youth at risk and supported them to achieve success and make healthier choices.

My daughter Cerena, has been a coaching client of Nola’s for a few years. Throughout this important time in her life, Nola has been a “rock” for her. A visit to Nola’s has meant a safe and welcoming opportunity to discuss feelings, emotions, victories and upsets. One of Nola’s messages that sticks with Cerena is “whatever has happened, good or bad, you’re awesome and you’ll handle it!” There has never once been a time when she’s left a visit when she hasn’t felt calm and uplifted – with new perspective on the day. Cerena is a confident and happy teenage girl – and we owe huge thanks to Nola for helping her to develop coping skills and a positive outlook!

Grateful mother & huge fan

Before hiring Nola, I was completely uncertain of how I was going to deal with both of my teenage sons, in terms of how they were dealing with being in a new “blended family”. They were being incredibly stubborn and they were not willing to listen or open up their minds and it made me both sad and frustrated at the same time. When I began working with Nola, she was able to support me in creating a new set of beliefs and gave me some incredible insight that I clearly wouldn’t have been able to come up with on my own. From that place, and with some new tools and strategies we coached through, I was able to use what I had learned with my kids and over time, things completely turned around for the better. I am so grateful to Nola and I encourage anyone who is feeling challenged with their children or their teenagers to reach out to her for some help and guidance. She is a true professional and her ability to listen and support everyone involved is remarkable and she does it with a style and a grace that comes from the heart.
